PARENT CODE
OF CONDUCT
2026-2027 Season
Parent Code of Conduct
Being part of JYC is something we take pride in as a community. Parents and guardians play a vital role in the success of our program, and we count on you to partner with our coaches and board members in creating a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment for every athlete.
Participation in Jackson Youth Cheer is a privilege that comes with shared responsibility. By registering your athlete, parents and guardians agree to uphold the following guidelines.
Sportsmanship & Positive Support
Always support and encourage all athletes. Never belittle or criticize any participant.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times toward athletes, coaches, officials, and opposing teams.
Respect the decisions of officials, judges, and program leadership. Concerns should never be addressed through confrontation at practices, games, or events.
Language & Conduct Standards
Parents and spectators must not engage in profanity, abusive language, taunting, or any form of verbal or physical aggression toward athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, or other spectators.
These expectations apply both in person and on all social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and similar platforms.
Coaching & Communication
Please refrain from coaching athletes from the sidelines or outside of practice, as it can create confusion for athletes and conflict with established routines and coaching instruction.
Questions, concerns, or complaints regarding a coach, athlete, or program policy must be directed to the appropriate JYC board member following the program’s communication procedures.
Jackson Youth Cheer reserves the right to review and respond to any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct or is detrimental to the program.
Program Policies & Acknowledgments
By registering your athlete in Jackson Youth Cheer, you acknowledge and understand that:
Team sizes and placement will be determined by the Jackson Youth Cheer Board.
Decisions regarding routines, positions, and discipline are made by coaches with the support of the JYC Board.
Any violation or suspected violation of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the event area and further disciplinary action.
Consequences for Violations
Consequences may include, but are not limited to:
Removal from practices, games, or competitions
Suspension or ban from JYC events
